I was going through my blog a few days ago and I noticed that I did not have my buffalo wings recipe on here. I was shocked, it is with out a doubt one of my favorite snack foods. I will have my barbecued buffalo wing recipe here at some point in the near future and will be including some great barbecue recipes as the spring and summer arrive.
This is a fairly easy recipe to make, it is a two part process. You will need to cook your wings, make the sauce and combine for all that deliciousness. For the sauce you will need:
1/2 cup of unsalted butter (one stick)
1 tbs honey
1 tbs apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
salt to taste
Combine all the ingredients into a pot over medium heat and stir. Once the liquid comes to a simmer turn off the heat and set aside for later use.
To cook the wings you will need:
3 tbs olive oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat the oven to 350
In a bowl combine the wings qirh olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix to ensure all the wings are well coated.
You will now need to cut the chicken wings into three pieces. Cut along the joints in the wing, this will make the job a lot easier to preform. Once this is done, you will be left with the drumette, the wingette, and the wing tip. You can save the wing tips for making stock or you can just discard them leaving you with the drumette and the wingette. Place foil into a baking sheet and place a wire rack on top of the foil into the baking sheet. Place the wings onto the wire rack and place in the oven for approximately 30 minutes. After 30 minutes turn the heat to 450 for 10 to 15 minutes which will help the skin crisp.
When the wings are done, place them in a bowl, add the sauce you made and toss to coat.
Serve hot and enjoy.
Don’t forget the blue cheese for those that like to dip.
